What I Bought for Puerto Rico (Summer 2025)

Introduction
Hi everyone!
In two weeks, I’m going to Puerto Rico, and if this is a shock to you, don’t worry, it’s a shock to me too!
My life has been go go go the past couple of months: constantly moving, traveling, work being crazy, my recent Squid Game series, and preparing my first-ever stand-up set.
Likewise, I haven’t been preparing for Puerto Rico as much as I should’ve... ESPECIALLY when it comes to clothes.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably realized that I don’t really do summer clothes.
I’ve never been one to fancy myself a short-sleeve shirt and shorts kind of person, and while I usually just stick it out in long sleeves and pants, I don’t think that’s going to be possible in Puerto Rico.
I don’t know how my health insurance transfers to Puerto Rico, but I do know I don’t want to find out, so I’d rather not pass out.
A couple of weeks ago, Old Navy had a sale on their summer clothes, so I bought a few things for Puerto Rico and the rest of the summer.
To the post!

At a Glance

Puerto Rico Outfit Ideas
My family’s trip to Puerto Rico is a short one. 'll only be there for two full days.
So, I only bought two outfits and figured I could mix and match what I bought with my current wardrobe to come up with new combinations, especially if I want to match my family.
I’ve never really liked the way short-sleeve button-down shirts fit me unless they’re made out of a thick material.
Since it’s the summer of linen, my choices are either wearing the shirts with a short-sleeve shirt or tank top underneath, or wearing the shirt by itself.
Given my previously mentioned predicament, I chose the former.

I love this outfit a lot, and I’m really excited to wear it.
I like the finish of the shorts because they have white piping that brings out the white accents in the shirt.
I also think this outfit will look great because it’s so far from what I usually wear.
If there’s one piece I NEVER wear, it’s sandals ... but you know what?
It’s Puerto Rico, so why not try something new?

For my second outfit, I wanted something inspired by the sailorcore theme I’ve been raving about since the beginning of the year.
I love that this shirt looks like one of those fancy teacups.
The only thing I’m worried about is sweating through the shirt, but I think sweating through clothes is standard practice in Puerto Rico.
So I’ll take my Instagram pictures from the safety of our air-conditioned Airbnb before we leave.
I’m also thinking this outfit might look better with white Vans instead of the sandals... but we’ll see.

Conclusion
If I’m being honest, I’m really nervous to go to Puerto Rico.
Hot weather makes me anxious because I know my hair is going to get super frizzy, and I don’t want to accidentally pass out.
I’m also flying alone for the first time ever.
But hopefully, with the comfort of my family, the clothes I bought, and the support of my wonderful readers, I’ll have a good time.
My family has been BEGGING me to go since I was a kid, so there’s a lot of hope riding on me having a good experience.
AND I ALMOST FORGOT!
The thing I’m most excited for is the Bad Bunny concert!
I bought something I’m really excited to wear that I intentionally left out of this post.
If you want to make sure you don’t miss what I end up wearing while I’m in Puerto Rico, subscribe to my email list using the link at the bottom of this post!
I’ll be posting everything I do and wear in Puerto Rico on this blog shortly after.
Until then, I’ll see you next week!
